Neurological Conditions and Neurological Physiotherapy 

Neurological Physiotherapy focuses on the treatment of patients who have suffered an injury or disease affecting their central nervous system, (CNS). Examples of these can include: Stroke, head injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, spinal injuries etc. 

 

Neurological disorders can affect the functioning of the brain, nerves, spinal cord as well as the peripheral nervous system.

These conditions often involve disturbances in the messages between the brain and the body which in turn can lead to a loss movement, sensation, coordination or balance. It can also impact an individuals perception, speech, memory and cognition.

Every condition and its symptoms are completely unique to the individual â€‹which is why we offer in-depth one-to-one assessments.

We assess patients within their home environment using our skills and knowledge of joints and movement to help pattens move with more ease and maximise their rehabilitation potential.

​

We refer and work with occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and clinical psychologists to ensure needs of every individual are considered to help work towards a better quality of life.
